  • Lillie Cortes

    MC, LPC, SEP, CSAT, BASE-P, Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist

    Humans learn amazing adaptations to survive the systems they were born into. Lillie Cortes is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), with a specialized focus on integrating psychedelics into therapeutic practices. With years of clinical experience, she is deeply committed to helping individuals heal from trauma, addiction, and relational difficulties through a holistic and personalized approach.

    Lillie offers a safe space for you to work through the trauma held in your body.

    Her extensive training in Somatic Experiencing allows her to guide clients in reconnecting with their bodies and emotions, fostering resilience and deep healing from within. As a CSAT, she has supported individuals and couples navigating the complexities of sexual addiction and intimacy disorders, helping them build healthier, more authentic relationships with themselves and others.

    In addition to her clinical work, Lillie serves as the Clinical Director of Trauma Healing Center, where she oversees the overall clinical vision and direction of the practice. She provides supervision and mentorship to clinicians, offering grounded guidance that supports both professional growth and ethical integrity. As an approved provider for beginning SE practitioners, she helps emerging therapists build confidence, skill, and presence in their work.

    Lillie’s work: whether with clients, clinicians, or the Center as a whole, is guided by her belief that healing is not about erasing the past, but about reclaiming the freedom to live fully beyond it.

    Over the course of her career, she has had the amazing fortune of working with Peter Levine, Bessel van der Kolk, Pia Mellody, Tian Dayton and Pat & Stefanie Carnes.

  • Tony Ludlum

    MS, LPC, CSAT

    Tony believes that healing happens through genuine connection, curiosity, and compassion. He strives to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe enough to explore difficult experiences, deepen their understanding of themselves, and move toward a life that feels more authentic, connected, and fulfilling. His goal is to walk alongside clients as they process trauma, strengthen resilience, and reconnect with their innate capacity for healing and growth.

    Tony strives to help clients heal from trauma so they can build lives that feel authentic, connected, and meaningful.

    Tony enjoys working with young adults, trauma survivors, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals navigating life transitions, identity development, addiction, mood disorders, and the lasting effects of complex trauma. His approach is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in the belief that healing occurs when clients feel genuinely seen, understood, and accepted.

    Tony integrates Somatic Experiencing (SE), the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), and other trauma-informed approaches to thoughtfully tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals.

    Tony is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He earned his Master’s degree in Counseling from Grand Canyon University and completed his clinical internship at the Claudia Black Young Adult Center at The Meadows in Wickenburg, Arizona, an internationally recognized treatment center specializing in trauma and addiction. During his time at The Meadows, he trained alongside respected leaders in the field, including Pia Mellody, Claudia Black, and Tian Dayton. Tony remains committed to ongoing professional growth and providing compassionate, evidence-based care rooted in authenticity and connection.

  • Maureen Keaveny

    PhD, SEP, BASE-P

    When we find ourselves stumbling in our journey through life, more often than not we are able to pick ourselves back up and keep going. Until we can’t. Whether we face a sudden health crisis or loss or become overwhelmed by the cumulation of life’s challenges, healing our systems through support is possible. Maureen works with her clients to create an individual healing plan by incorporating physiology and psychology to move toward living in mind-body wellness.

    Maureen aims to help her clients accept and change their current challenges from barriers into strengths allowing for a more embodied life.

    Maureen is a Licensed Psychologist. She graduated from Arizona State University with a PhD in Counseling Psychology. She completed her internship at the Phoenix Veterans Administration in medical psychology. Both in her academic research and clinical training, she has aimed to expand her knowledge and skills regarding the intersection of physical and mental health, including supporting those diagnosed with cancer, auto-immune disorders, neurological disorders, cardiac disorders, sleep disorders as well as support for caregivers. She has completed her training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEPTM) and Relational Bodywork and Somatic Education Provider (BASETM). She also as advanced training in hypnosis, mindfulness, EMDR, CBT, Interpersonal Therapy.

  • Havi Kang

    LPC, CSAT-S, CPTT-S CMAT, TRLC, RYT-200 Clinical Supervisor

    Havi is a trauma-informed psychotherapist who is passionate about helping people heal through their trauma and understand who they are as humans. Havi’s experience extends to working at various levels of care and is currently working in outpatient services offering telehealth sessions. Havi also works for the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) as the Clinical and Curriculum Manager where she works with leaders in the field to provide innovative certification training to other clinicians. Havi also specializes and offers clinical supervision for therapists in training or gaining certification for CSAT or CPTT.

    Havi specializes in childhood and adulthood trauma, love addiction, betrayal trauma, compulsive sexual behaviors, codependency, intimacy and relationship issues, attachment issues, substance abuse, personality disorders, identity/gender identity issues, mood related issues, and racial trauma/multicultural issues. Havi is also a Life Coach specializing in healing trauma, and has a passion for working particularly with women who suffer from their traumatic histories.

    Navigating the chaos of our external world is hard enough, let alone the internal world we each have. Havi strives to support and guide clients into understanding their inner workings.

    Havi is trained and certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Post Induction Therapy (PIT), Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT-Supervisor), and Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT-Supervisor), Trauma and Resilience Life Coach, and is working towards Somatic Experiencing (SE). Havi is knowledgeable in multiple treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Patrick Carnes 30 Task Model, and Psychodrama/Experiential work.

    Havi was born and raised in England and spent 23 years in Phoenix and has recently moved to California. Havi enjoys the outdoors, hiking, going to the beach, traveling, and has recently gotten back into reading! Havi has practiced yoga for 10 years and has been teaching yoga on and off for eight years, which blends well with her use of Somatic Experiencing (SE).

  • Jackie Allen

    LIAC, CSAT

    Jackie is a Licensed Independent Addiction Counselor (LIAC) who has been working within the addiction field for 15 years. In 2010, she started at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Center City, Minnesota, as a lead therapist on the Healthcare Professional Unit and in 2015 made the move to Arizona to further her career with the Claudia Black Young Adult Center Residential Program. She served as lead therapist there for one year and was promoted to Clinical Director.

    In 2019, she transitioned to the world-renowned sex addiction treatment center, Gentle Path, where she completed her Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) training and trained under Dr. Stephanie Carnes and Dr. Patrick Carnes. She did considerable work with adult sex addicts and their spouses. She received her CSAT certification through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals.

    Jackie believes that you can live the life you want. Every person has inherent worth and is deserving of sobriety and recovery.

    Jackie is trauma-informed and trained in Post-Induction Therapy (Meadows Model), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and is now working towards her certification in Somatic Experiencing (SE), Certified Partner Trauma Therapy (CPTT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). She specializes in psychodramas and experientials and focuses on the fields of substance abuse, codependency, and sexual addiction treatment including the treatment of sex addicts and their partners.

  • Craig Mahaffy

    MSc, LPC

    Craig believes that healing comes from cultivating harmony between the mind, body, and spirit. He strives to create a therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe bringing every part of themselves into the room, trusting that healing unfolds through authenticity, curiosity, and compassionate connection. Using an individualized, integrative, and holistic approach, Craig supports clients in aligning their emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational well-being so they can move toward lives that feel more grounded, meaningful, and authentic.

    Craig believes healing comes from cultivating harmony between the mind, body, and spirit.

    Craig primarily works with adults navigating the lasting effects of complex trauma, including childhood sexual abuse, identity exploration, psychedelic integration, and cultivating a deeper relationship with the sacred. He also enjoys supporting individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and medical conditions, as well as those seeking to integrate and make sense of non-ordinary states of consciousness.

    He incorporates trauma-informed interventions, mindfulness, somatic approaches, self-compassion, humor, and spiritually rooted practices, thoughtfully tailoring treatment to each client’s unique goals, experiences, and strengths.

    Craig is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). He earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Prior to becoming a therapist, Craig helped support the development of nonprofit organizations in Mexican border communities and worked in higher education. These experiences continue to shape his appreciation for resilience, service, and the diverse paths people take toward healing.

    Outside of the therapy room, Craig is a voracious reader, avid video gamer, tree hugger, husband, brother, and son. He values lifelong learning, humility, and nurturing harmony in his own life, believing that clinicians are most effective when they remain committed to their own personal growth. Craig brings a calm, gentle, and lighthearted presence to his work, creating a space where clients can explore life’s most difficult experiences with compassion, curiosity, and hope.

  • Asher Hennes

    LPC, SEP, CSAT

    Asher is passionate about helping individuals recover from addiction, heal from trauma, and develop meaningful intimate relationships in their lives. His belief is that there is inherent good inside every person and that healing comes from within. Asher takes a psychobiological approach to resolving trauma that emphasizes human beings’ innate protective responses and natural capacity to heal. He believes in treating the mind, body, and spirit and integrates Somatic Experiencing (SE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Post-Induction Therapy (PIT), and Spiritual and Mindfulness practices.

    Asher is passionate about helping people heal from religious trauma and reconnect by integrating with their spiritual selves.

    Growing up in a religious Midwest environment taught Asher the value of spirituality and community as well as the potential challenges of insularity and dogma. Asher strives to create a safe space for clients to connect to the present moment and discover and embrace their authentic selves.

    Asher has inpatient experience at an acute long-term residential treatment center where he worked with individuals struggling with addiction, trauma, and intimacy disorders. He has extensive experience helping neurodiverse individuals enhance their interpersonal skills and executive functioning. Asher holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University and is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) as well as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT).

  • Adri Ulrich

    LAC

    Adri is passionate about helping others heal from religious, relational, and generational trauma. She strives to support others to live healthier and more fulfilling lives by implementing a holistic approach to therapy. She believes assessing mind, body, and spirit is essential to achieving one’s therapeutic goals and gaining a deeper understanding of oneself. Adri draws from various methods including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), mindfulness and self-compassion practices to best fit each person’s unique experiences and needs. Her goal is to provide a safe space for individuals to feel confident, supported, and empowered throughout their healing journey.

    Adri believes that doing the valiant work of inner healing can help individuals fully embrace their authentic self and cultivate meaningful relationships.

    Adri is an Arizona native and feels blessed to have grown up in the desert where she discovered the therapeutic benefits of nature. She encourages others to utilize the outdoors to reconnect, recharge, and find relief from the stressors of daily life.

    Adri Holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Arizona University. Previously, she received her BA in Psychology and minor in Sociology from Arizona State University. During her undergraduate career, Adri worked in the Healthy Experiences Across Relationships and Transitions Lab (@HEART Lab) where she assisted conducting research about the link between relationship experiences to emotional and behavioral development. During her time in the lab, research focused on cultural, social, and economic factors that contribute to one’s overall wellbeing and relationship experiences throughout adolescence and young adulthood.

  • Jenny Bayless

    D.Min, LMFT, CSAT

    Jenny has been passionate about both spirituality and empowering people from the time she was a little girl. As a pastor’s kid and within contexts of helping ministries, she witnessed profound freedom and heart healing found through spiritual connection; She also witnessed disorienting pain and spiritual wounds. These experiences set her on a trajectory to study both therapy and theology. She spent two years after college working in Southeast Asia with women and transgender men coming out of sexual exploitation. She was privileged to work alongside local staff to provide pastoral counseling and prayer ministry.

    After returning to the states, Jenny completed her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. She interned, then went on to work full time at Gentle Path and Willow House at the Meadows, beginning in 2016. She greatly enjoyed working alongside Lillie Cortes. She also values the trauma-informed addiction recovery training she received at the Meadows.

    She is trained in Pia Mellody’s Post-Induction Therapy (PIT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Sue Johnson’s Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and earned certification as a sex addiction therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals.

    In 2019, she completed her Doctorate of Ministry in grief and trauma therapy from Primus University of Theology. She is also licensed as a minister.

    She is excited to once again partner with Lillie, joining Trauma Healing Center as a Spiritual Advisor. This is an opportunity for clients to engage in an in depth exploration of your spiritual health and wholeness. Trauma wounds impact our view of self, view of others, and view of Higher Power. We are often left in a crisis of questions around values, meaning, forgiveness, surrender, trust and faith. She specializes in spirituality sessions for clients who would like to explore more extensively issues around their spirituality, spiritual wounds, and spirituality as it pertains to their recovery or healing process.

  • Zac Austin

    LAMFT

    Zac carries the deeply-held conviction that it is his life’s greatest privilege and joy to walk alongside individuals, couples, and families in their most vulnerable life moments. It is a guiding principle and belief that the most authentic and meaningful growth and discovery can happen even in the most uncertain and challenging circumstances. During the process of healing, we can become acquainted with our most resilient, authentic, and compassionate selves, and discover the strength and goodness in ourselves that we have carried all along. Zac cares a great deal about multicultural & LGBTQ+ issues, healing from religious and family wounds, and using creativity in order to heal. He utilizes a combination of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and a variety of somatic practices including Somatic Experiencing (SE) in order to develop an individualized and comprehensive approach to the traumas that we carry, and to understand how our relationships can thrive when we commit to the healing process.

    Zac believes that the most impactful healing happens when we deepen our relationship with our most authentic selves, and courageously step into vulnerable relationships with the people who consistently care for us.

    As a Licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (LAMFT), Zac works with individuals, couples, and families to discover how relationships – past and present – have shaped who we have become and how we relate to the world around us. His early career was spent developing meaningful relationships with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families, where he was committed to assisting families in developing meaningful and long-lasting support systems for one another. He also spent much of his career working alongside teens and young adults as they navigated numerous challenges in an ever-changing and developing world. Zac graduated from Fuller School of Psychology with his masters in Marriage & Family Therapy, where he was shaped personally, professionally, and academically. He left his time in the academic world with an understanding that humans are both incredibly complex and carry limitless value within themselves. His greatest passion and purpose is to provide a voice for those who have been unheard, and to create space for the unseen to be fully discovered for who they are.

  • Sarah Menard

Sarah is passionate about walking alongside individuals, couples, and families as they face life’s challenges, believing no one should have to navigate their pain alone.

    With a background rooted in Mindfulness-Based Strategies, Attachment Theory, and Trauma-Informed Practices, she creates a safe supportive space where clients can reclaim their voice, rebuild their inner trust, and rediscover purpose. Sarah’s calm yet determined presence allows clients to move at a pace that honors both their safety and their courage, knowing that true healing unfolds through connection and self-discovery.

    Sarah believes healing is a return- not to who we were before the pain, but to the deeper truth of who we’ve always been. Through the body, and through relationships rooted in safety and care, we begin to remember ourselves. In that closeness, something sacred opens- a quiet, steady path back to belonging.

    As a Licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (LAMFT), Sarah works with clients across the lifespan, with a special focus on children, adolescents, and young adults navigating academic stress, identity development, and complex family systems. She also supports couples through Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), helping partners deepen emotional attunement, repair ruptures, and rebuild trust following relational injuries such as infidelity. In addition, Sarah is ASCH Level 2–trained in clinical hypnosis and is beginning level trained in Somatic Experiencing (SE), offering integrative tools to support insight and healing. A graduate of Syracuse University with advanced training in trauma-informed care, Sarah brings warmth, presence, and intentionality to her work. She views the therapeutic relationship as a sacred space and feels deeply honored to walk alongside clients as they cultivate resilience, embody authenticity, and create more secure, meaningful connections.

  • Kayli Norris

    LAMFT, RN

    Kayli is passionate about helping women and couples reconnect with themselves and each other as they navigate life’s challenges. She is dedicated to supporting clients wherever they may be in their journey, with particular expertise in maternal and reproductive health, chronic pain or illness, betrayal trauma, and relationship concerns. Her former experience working in the healthcare field gives her unique insight and understanding that helps her to support healthcare workers as well. Her approach is warm and collaborative, and utilizes an integrative framework centered on both the body’s wisdom and the mind’s insight.

    Meeting her clients with compassion and care, Kayli brings hope to those experiencing hardship in the midst of trial. Each of us is a culmination of many parts, none of which exist in a vacuum, and understanding this interconnectedness is paramount to change.

    Prior to pursuing therapy, Kayli worked as a registered nurse within a variety of specialties, including gynecology, oncology, fertility, and labor and delivery. Her passion for women’s health has evolved from a focus on the physical, to a care for the mental well-being of her clients. Her training within the fields of both physical and mental health uniquely positions her to help clients explore the mind-body connection and bring about holistic, meaningful change. She is a graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary, and takes an integrated, evidence-based approach to therapy. She incorporates techniques from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and Restoration Therapy (RT). She also utilizes the Gottman Method in her work with couples.

    Kayli offers therapy through telehealth, creating a flexible and accessible space for parents, families, and those navigating physical health challenges or seeking increased safety and comfort from their own environment.

    Jennalee believes that healing begins within a safe, compassionate relationship where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. She is committed to creating a warm, judgment-free environment where individuals can explore their experiences, deepen self-understanding, and move toward meaningful, lasting change. Her goal is to walk alongside clients with curiosity, empathy, and authenticity, empowering them to build resilience, reconnect with their strengths, and cultivate hope through life’s challenges.

    Jennalee believes that healing happens in relationship and strives to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered in their process.

    Jennalee enjoys working with adolescents, adults, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. She has experience supporting clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, chronic pain, sleep concerns, low self-esteem, and the everyday stressors that can leave people feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. She recognizes that every person’s story is unique and believes therapy should honor each individual’s values, culture, and lived experience.

    Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, person-centered, and multicultural. Jennalee integrates a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), clinical hypnosis, Narrative Therapy, Feminist Therapy, and expressive interventions such as Art Therapy, thoughtfully tailoring treatment to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.

    Jennalee earned her bachelor’s degrees from the University of Arizona in Family Studies and Human Development and Care, Health, and Society. She has completed specialized training through the Zero Suicide Institute and the Gottman Institute and remains committed to continued professional growth so she can provide the highest quality care to those she serves.

  • Nicole Ladner

    Nicole is a dedicated counselor who is passionate about helping adults, adolescents, and children navigate the impact of trauma. She takes a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, understanding the unique challenges each client faces. By integrating evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based interventions, Nicole works collaboratively with clients to process emotions, enhance self-awareness, and cultivate a sense of empowerment on their healing journey.

    Nicole believes in the critical importance of a warm connection, trust, and individualized care when working with clients.

    Nicole received her bachelor’s in psychology from Arizona State University and received a master’s in mental health counseling at Grand Canyon University. She is committed to creating a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies. With warmth, empathy, and a deep commitment to advocacy, she strives to help clients of all ages overcome challenges, develop resilience, and move toward a healthier, more hopeful future.

  • Amanda Leyrer

    LAMFT

    Amanda Leyrer is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT) and CSAT-Candidate who specializes in working with couples and individuals impacted by betrayal trauma, compulsive sexual behavior, and relationship distress. She also supports special needs families and treats co-occurring concerns such as anxiety and depression. Amanda is trained in Emotional Family Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and has completed the Trauma Research Foundation’s Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies reinforcing her trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to care.

    Amanda offers a compassionate, structured space to feel understood and take steady steps toward healing.

    In addition to her clinical practice, Amanda has worked with the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) since 2017 and currently serves as Director of Program Development, collaborating with leaders in the field and contributing to the development of professional certifications and training workshops.

    Her approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, integrating targeted interventions tailored to each client’s personal goals while prioritizing emotional safety, stabilization, and meaningful change. Amanda is committed to helping individuals, couples, and families rebuild trust, strengthen connection, and move toward long-term healing and growth.

  • Brittany Garcia

    Clinical Intern

    Brittany is a Master’s-level counseling intern who enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults. She believes people have the ability to create meaningful change at any stage of life and views therapy as a collaborative space where clients can feel supported, understood, and empowered. Brittany recognizes that each person brings their own unique experiences, strengths, and story into the counseling room. She incorporates evidence-based approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy, to help clients explore the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical tools for change.

    Brittany strives to help clients approach their thoughts, experiences, and stories with curiosity, compassion, and openness.

    She has a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, self-doubt, life transitions, and challenges with self-esteem. Brittany understands that beginning therapy can feel intimidating. She strives to create a space where clients can explore the difficult parts of life without judgment or shame, while also welcoming authenticity and moments of humor along the way.

    Janet Kassel is often the first voice clients hear when reaching out to The Trauma Healing Center. With more than 15 years of experience in the behavioral health field, she offers a compassionate and reassuring presence that helps clients feel cared for from the very beginning. Janet is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment, ensuring each person feels heard, respected, and connected to the right resources. Her commitment to confidentiality and ethical care reflects the values of the Center and the trust placed in our team.
